GSL Education are looking for an Engagement officer to work within schools setting in Chesterfield.

About the role

As an Engagement Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our pupils are consistently attending and engaged in their classes. You will be responsible for coordinating the movement of classes and routines across the site, ensuring a smooth and efficient educational environment. Your experience and proactive approach will help us foster a positive and engaging learning atmosphere.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve pupil attendance and engagement.
  • Monitor and analyse attendance data, identifying patterns and areas for improvement.
  • Work closely with teachers, parents, and students to address attendance issues.
  • Coordinate class movements and routines, ensuring minimal disruption to the learning process.
  • Conduct home visits and meetings with parents/carers to discuss attendance concerns and develop action plans.
  • Provide support and guidance to students, helping them overcome barriers to attendance.
  • Liaise with external agencies and services to support pupil engagement and attendance.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports on attendance and engagement initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role within an educational setting.
  • Strong understanding of attendance and engagement strategies.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A proactive and solution-focused approach.
