Long Term Futures is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Student Support Lead to support a mainstream secondary school in the Chesterfield (S43) area. The successful candidate will be the initial point of contact for day-to-day guidance and support for students within a defined year group.

This is a rewarding opportunity for a passionate individual to make a significant impact on the lives of young people.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership in the area of student support, working with colleagues to ensure high standards of behaviour and attitudes across the school.
  • Plan and manage a co-ordinated pastoral support programme for students and their families.
  • Develop and implement initiatives to support student well-being, resilience, and academic progress.
  • Organise and Lead TAF Meetings for students and attend case reviews as required.
  • Collaborate with the school attendance officer and heads of section to identify students requiring intervention to improve attendance.
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Headteacher, teaching staff, and external agencies to ensure appropriate interventions for students.
  • Lead on attendance monitoring, ensuring accurate records and working proactively to address absenteeism.
  • Take lead in managing the behaviour of a year group.

The school is looking to appoint someone who:

  • Has experience in student support, pastoral care, and behaviour management.
  • Possesses strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to engage students, staff, and external stakeholders effectively.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
  • Has an Enhanced DBS certificate.
