Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant

Chesterfield based – requires a car – up to £575 per week

A Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) is looking for an enthusiastic and resilient Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team. This specialised role supports students who have been excluded from mainstream schools due to behavioural or other complex issues. The successful candidate will work with students in small groups at the PRU and on a 1:1 basis, often travelling to students' homes to deliver personalised lessons. As a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for managing your own schedule, ensuring that each student receives the support they need to re-engage with their learning.

Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant role:

  • Sociable hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM

In this role, you will work with a diverse group of students who face significant barriers to education, from behavioural issues to SEN needs. As a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant, you will be at the forefront of their educational journey, providing not only academic support but also emotional and behavioural guidance. You'll work closely with staff to create tailored lesson plans, and your role will also involve travelling to students' homes to deliver 1:1 educational sessions, ensuring they remain engaged and motivated. Excellent organisational and planning skills are needed for this role as you will be responsible for your own day-to-day schedule.
