About the Role:
As a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA), you will play a pivotal role in assisting students with SEN to overcome learning barriers and reach their full potential. Collaborate closely with teachers and support staff to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere. This role offers a chance to make a significant difference in the lives of students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualised education plans tailored to the specific needs of students with SEN.
- Provide one-on-one support to help students understand and complete their work, offering additional explanations and assistance as needed.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers and adjusting support strategies as necessary.
- Participate in meetings and discussions to share insights and strategies for supporting students’ learning and well-being.
- Foster a welcoming and supportive environment where students feel valued and included.
- Utilise diverse instructional techniques and materials to cater to the varied learning styles and needs of students.
- Maintain detailed records of student development and communicate this information to teachers, parents, and other relevant parties.
Requirements:
- Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Ability to establish trust and rapport with all members of the school community.
- Commitment to supporting students with SEN, demonstrating patience and empathy in interactions.
- Additional qualifications or training in special education are advantageous but not mandatory.
To work with GSL Education as a Primary SEN Teaching Assistant, you will need:
- The right to work in the UK.
- An up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
- An enhanced DBS registered to the update service or willingness to apply for one with GSL Education.
