SEN Coordinator - Primary School, Chesterfield
Position: SEN CoordinatorLocation: ChesterfieldHours: Full-Time, 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday to FridayContract: Fixed Term, January 2024 - July 2025
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Coordinator to join our vibrant primary school in Chesterfield. This is a primarily non-teaching role focused on leading our Integrated Resource Unit and ensuring that all pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) receive the support they need to thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the Integrated Resource Unit, including overseeing Teaching Assistants (TAs) and teaching staff.
- Develop and implement tailored support plans to meet the individual needs of pupils with SEND.
- Collaborate with staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure high-quality provision.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEN strategies across the school.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and contribute to EHCP reviews and documentation.
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Proven experience in managing SEND provision (applications from ECTs with relevant SEN experience are welcome).
- Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage staff and liaise with stakeholders.
- A passion for inclusive education and the ability to advocate for pupils with SEND.
