Full-Time Teacher for Key Stage 1 SEND Class

We are seeking a qualified and experienced teacher to join our team and lead a Key Stage 1 class within our Integrated Resource Unit at a mainstream primary school in Chesterfield. This role offers the chance to work with a small group of children with diverse needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Social, Emotional, and Behavioural Difficulties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver tailored lessons that meet the individual needs of each child, fostering their academic, social, and emotional development.

  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages engagement and progress.

  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and other professionals to implement individual education plans (IEPs).

  • Use effective behaviour management strategies to support children with Social, Emotional, and Behavioural Difficulties.

  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers, providing regular updates on their child's progress.

Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

  • Proven experience working with children with SEND, particularly ASD, ADHD, and Social, Emotional, and Behavioural Difficulties.

  • A strong understanding of the Key Stage 1 curriculum and the ability to adapt it to meet the needs of learners with SEND.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • A positive, patient, and resilient attitude.
