Fabricator/TIG Welder

Andy File Associates Limited is working as a Recruitment Agency on behalf of our client with regards this permanent position.

LOCATION: Chesterfield

REPORTS TO: Metalwork Supervisor

HOURS: Monday to Thursday 08:15 to 17:00, Friday 08:15 to 15:30 

Main duties

•         Read and work from drawings

•         Be able to work with all hand tools e.g. hand drills, files, hacksaws and taps, etc

•         Be able to mark out and measure accurately

•         Have experience with hand folders, punches, bending machines and rollers

•         Experience with guillotines, stand and bench drills

•         TIG welding experience

•         Have knowledge of both silver and soft soldering techniques

•         Be able to dress welded work up to high standards

•         Follow the companies standard working procedures including 5s and Health and Safety

•         Responsible for quality control of own work before and after finishing

•         Above all be able to work under pressure, use initiative and work well as part of a team

Knowledge, experience and skills

•         The ability to work to deadlines

•         Excellent time management and ability to work to deadlines

•         Strong attention to detail

•         Experience in working with various metals such as, mild steel, brass, copper, stainless steel and aluminium

•         Knowledge in working with thin gauge sheet metals from 22g – 3mm also tube and box section

•         Demonstrate ability to work on your own initiative

•         Ability to work in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining quality standards

•         Being flexible, a good team member with a positive attitude
