We are recruiting on behalf of an innovative company at the forefront of the aerospace sector. The company is developing cutting-edge, lightweight, high-torque electric propulsion systems for electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL), Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), and General Aviation markets. As they continue to expand, they are seeking Mechanical Design Engineers who take ownership of their work, thrive in fast-paced environments, and are eager to contribute to their dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:
*Take ownership of designing and developing parts and assemblies for high-performance electric motors and controllers used in aerospace applications.
*Manage the product lifecycle from concept through to production, testing, and verification.
*Create 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, and supporting calculations and analysis.
*Select materials and production methods to develop innovative, high-performance designs.
*Collaborate with suppliers to resolve design and development challenges, ensuring optimal solutions.
*Support the development of manufacturing processes for new technologies and materials.
*Participate in DFMEAs and other engineering processes to ensure safe, reliable, and high-performing solutions.
*Assist with new business opportunities by providing technical insights into motor and controller applications.

Skills and Experience Required:
*Degree or equivalent in mechanical, electro-mechanical, or relevant engineering discipline.
*Proven experience in a design and development environment, applying engineering principles to real-world challenges.
*Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., CATIA V5/V6, NX, SolidWorks) for creating design concepts and production parts.
*Understanding of design for manufacturing (DFM) and series production processes.
*Familiarity with drawing control systems such as PLM or SolidWorks PDM.
*Proficient in GD&T to ISO 1101:2017, ASME Y14.5 - 2018 or similar standards.
*Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams and with external stakeholders.

Desirable Qualifications:
*Basic CAE analysis skills (FEM, CFD, vibration and modal).
*Experience with composite materials and bonding dissimilar materials.
*Membership in professional institutions such as IET or IMechE.
