Salary: Up to 28,000 dependent on experience

We are working on behalf of an established and award-winning employer, who are looking to expand their busy finance team with the addition of an experienced Accounts Assistant. You will be working as part of a team of 4 reporting into the Finance Manager, supporting with purchase and sales ledger duties.

The successful candidate will be have relevant experience in a similar role, ideally level 3 AAT qualified (or equivalent), with advanced Excel skills and experience using Sage Line 50.

As the Accounts Assistant, you will be based at their head office. Full time working hours Monday to Friday 9am until 5pm.

Role and responsibilities:

  • As an Accounts Assistant you will be responsible for a variety of purchase and sales ledger activities working collaboratively as a small team
  • Raising sales invoices/coding sales invoices
  • Raising purchase orders
  • Chasing overdue debtors
  • Assist with aged debtor reporting
  • Promptly respond to all queries
  • Self-billing customer reconciliation
  • Approving supplier invoices
  • Allocating supplier payments and sending remittance advice
  • Processing employee expense forms
  • Daily use of Excel and SAGE systems
  • General accounts duties as required and set by the Finance Manager

Skills and experience required:

  • Demonstrable previous experience working in similar Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant role is essential
  • Level 3 AAT qualified or equivalent
  • Experience in using SAGE is essential
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and small team environment
  • Attention to detail with the ability to multitask
