The Childcare Administrator role:

Are you looking for that perfect part time administrative role in a wonderful childcare setting?

First Steps Childcare Group is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed part time Childcare Administrator to join the First Steps Hub Team in Chichester to support all of the nurseries within the group.

You will enjoy working as part of a small friendly team set within a childcare environment and undertake a range of administrative duties supporting the sales and admissions processes of the nurseries and will deal with a variety of customers including our parents, college staff & students and external agencies.

Key Responsibilities of ourChildcare Administrator:

  • Providing an efficient and effective administrative service to parents, from their initial enquiry and then throughout their child’s time at nursery, and also staff, students, members of the public and external agencies, for the groups nurseries.
  • Accurately processing, recording & filing, all incoming data from the nurseries and all subsidiary services that First Steps offer.
  • Working closely with The Central Administrator and nurseries to monitor occupancy & availability.
  • Accurately updaing and maintaining confidential customer data, records and reports, both in hard copy and electronically via Microsoft Office programs and our Management Software system, in line with GDPR regulations.
  • Reconciling Petty Cash floats.
  • Raising and distributing monthly invoices to families, responding to any queries and liaising closely with the Finance team.
  • Responding to an allocated setting, to provide a range of administrative support to the operational teams including that of regular order placement, processing incoming documentation requests, diary coordination, annual archiving and supporting with administrative documents for annual calendar events.
  • Providing welcoming, professional, and timely communication for all customers either by telephone or email.

Our ideal Childcare Administrator should have the below skills and experience:

  • GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths at grade C or above
  • Experience working within an administrative role
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel and Outlook and use of Management Software systems
  • The ability to communicate with a diverse range of people at all levels, verbally and in writing
