An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and experienced Practice Bookkeeper to join a growing, independent firm of accountants based in Chichester. With a strong and supportive bookkeeping department of 12, this office-based role offers the chance to become an integral part of a successful and ambitious team.

This firm is recognised for its personal client service and long-standing relationships. As the business continues to grow, they are now seeking a solid and reliable bookkeeper to support a diverse client portfolio using Xero and Sage.

What will the Practice Bookkeeper role involve?
  • Managing bookkeeping for a portfolio of clients across various sectors

  • Preparing and submitting VAT returns

  • Processing invoices, bank reconciliations and general ledger management

  • Working with cloud-based software, predominantly Sage and Xero

  • Liaising directly with clients and supporting queries

  • Producing management accounts (advantageous but not essential)

  • Supporting other members of the bookkeeping team as required

Suitable Candidate for the Practice Bookkeeper vacancy:
  • Strong background in an accountancy practice environment or multi-client exposure would be a benefit.

  • Confident working with multiple clients simultaneously

  • Proficient in Sage and Xero software

  • Solid understanding of bookkeeping and VAT principles

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Friendly, client-focused approach with strong communication skills

  • Experience preparing management accounts would be a bonus
