Day Shifts: 4 - days on, 4 days off - Full time, permanent positions

Applications are invited from enthusiastic and reliable individuals looking to play a significant role in our production process. Joining a great proactive team, candidates will be responsible for operating allocated production machinery and associated autonomous maintenance, whilst also performing essential equipment change overs to suit product and production requirements.

Based at our Leythorne Nursery site in Runcton and reporting directly to the Team Leader, you will be a pivotal team member, working to ensure that customer standards are met and maintained at all times, along with a safe, clean working environment. Following procedures and working within a fast paced, dynamic production environment, you will have excellent attention to detail and strong, confident communication skills. Our Machine Operators function as part of a team, assisting with all steps in the production process, with main duties involving the setting up, safe running and monitoring of production machinery in any given area. You will be comfortable following set procedures, maintaining safe working practice and ensuring the highest standards of quality at all times.

You will be working in a fast-moving, fresh produce production environment and in temperature-controlled conditions - usual temperatures are around 3? - 5? and will receive full training, including the Food Safety Level 2, allergen control, manual handling and COSHH.

Duties & Responsibilities include:

  • Day to day set up, operation and monitoring of production machinery
  • Responsible for short interval control - ensuring all safety and compliance guidelines are followed
  • Handling machine changeovers for product changes
  • Providing cover for the Team Leaders when appropriate
  • Working to and achieving the highest possible operating efficiencies at all times
  • Maintaining accurate production records
  • Ensuring all safety and compliance procedures are consistently maintained
Requirements

We would be really keen to speak to you if you have previous factory/production experience within a Fresh Produce/food-related factory environment. Equally so, if you have worked in FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods) or any factory/production based organisation.

Skills Required

  • Good communication skills - English Level 2/English Level 3
  • Great attention to detail
  • Able to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills
  • A 'can do' and flexible attitude
  • A strong team player with a positive mindset!
  • Previous experience of machine operating or food production/processing would be a huge advantage
