Teqniq is searching for a Principal Structures Engineer to work in the public sector.

37 hours per week.

3 months contract.

09:00 -17:30

Responsibilities:

We will require the worker for a minimum of 6 months.Working arrangements - 2 or 3 days per week the office to suit current working arrangements and the remainder of the week work can be undertaken from home.

Ability to identify problems and resolve issues independently, particularly when attending site inspections or investigations, planning solutions and making sound pragmatic decisions which will have an impact on the service.

Self-motivation with a proven capability and significant experience in delivering multi-disciplinary and highway related projects.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to provide complex, technical specialist advice and guidance to a range of audiences, including non- specialists. Create and maintain effective working relationships and influence the behaviour and conduct of colleagues to ensure the highest level of service.

Ability to organise consultation events and explain often complex information in a way that is clear to members of the public.

Well-developed political awareness when working with members / senior management.

Being highly organised and able to plan and meet set-targets.

Sound analytical and judgemental skills to analyse and interpret varied and complex technical data/information, situations and surveys and develop solutions.

Strong IT skills and adaptability as new applications and platforms are introduced.

Being supportive to the wider team, providing advice and assistance to projects and programmes that are managed by others.

Demonstrable experience of supporting the governance of projects, including budget reporting, highlight reports and preparing and presenting information at Project Boards.
