Your new company
A global automotive organisation with multiple sites across the UK, who due to increased business volumes require a Financial Analyst on a permanent basis to join their team in the Bognor Regis Location.Your new role
You will be working within a team to ensure effective financial and cost analysis for the organisation, with key tasks including:
- Analyse Data Related to Manufacturing Costs and Expenses: looking at the costs associated with imported car parts.
- Prepare Cost Reports and Financial Statements: Create detailed reports that show the costs of different car parts and overall financial health. This could include monthly summaries of how much was spent on engine components versus body parts and the return/fault rate of each part.
- Monitor Budget Performance and Identify Variances: Regularly check if the actual spending on car parts matches the budget. If there are discrepancies, such as higher-than-expected costs for brake pads, investigate the reasons and suggest solutions.
- Work with Teams to Find Cost-Saving Opportunities: Collaborate with engineering and procurement teams to identify ways to reduce costs. For instance, you might suggest alternative suppliers for car batteries that offer better prices without compromising quality, and reducing the return or fault rate.
- Conduct Financial Forecasting and Budgeting: Predict future costs and set budgets for car parts. This could involve estimating the cost impact of new technologies, like electric vehicle components, and planning accordingly.
- Help Create Financial Models for New Projects: Develop financial models to assess the viability of new car parts or projects.
- Analyse Faulty Parts and Return Frequency: Specifically, track and analyse data on faulty car parts and how often they are returned. This involves identifying patterns, such as a high return rate for a specific type of sensor, and working with quality control teams to address the issues. This analysis helps in reducing warranty costs and improving product quality.
