The Recreation Assistant role:

Are you looking for a flexible role that could fit around university studies or family responsibilities or that ideal part time role to earn a bit of extra money?

Chichester College is currently seeking to appoint a highly motivated enthusiastic team player who is confident in working with children of all ages as a Recreation Assistant in our Sports Centre.

This role will be used to cover for weekends, evenings and hours during the day for our Holiday Club programme. All hours are variable and subject to change, depending on rotas.

Key Responsibilities of ourRecreation Assistant:

  • Monitoring that each area of activity is used in the correct manner.  If there are any questions direct them towards the Duty Officer.
  • Setting up, maintaining and dismantling equipment according to the schedules of activities taking place.
  • Cleaning the Sports Centre and associated areas and changing facilities to ensure the highest standards are met at all times.
  • Dealing with customer enquiries and cash handling.

Our ideal Recreation Assistant should have the below skills and experience:

  • GCSE Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Knowledge in sports facilities equipment
  • Experience in the leisure industry
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety within a Sport and Leisure environment
  • The ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of people at all ages and levels
