We are seeking a dedicated driver to join our Refugee, Resettlement and Migration Service to undertake driving duties of an allocated vehicle of 4 - 16 seats to and from a variety of locations, using a high level of professionalism in a safe and appropriate way.

Salary: £22,737 to £23,144 per annum (hourly rate: £11.79 to £11.98)

Contract Type: Permanent

Working Pattern: Full-time (37 hours per week)Monday to Friday

Location: Your base location is County Hall, West Street, Chichester, PO19 1RQ. However, the work will be carried out at various locations throughout West Sussex.

Interview Date: week commencing 14 October

About The Job

As a driver, you will play an important role in ensuring the safe and timely transportation of individuals to essential appointments, services, and activities.

On a day-to-day basis, you can expect to:

  • Safely transport customers to and from various destinations, ensuring their well-being throughout the journey.
  • Uphold professionalism and empathy when interacting with diverse groups of customers.
  • Load and unload customers' belongings (including luggage, kitchen items, groceries, small items of furniture etc) and placing them in the property with due care and respect.
  • Be responsible for the day-to-day condition and cleanliness of vehicles e.g. tyre pressures, oil and water checks, refuelling and cleaning on a frequent basis.
  • To understand and adhere to all relevant procedures including safeguarding.

The successful candidate should hold a Valid UK driving licence including category D1 or PCV.

What We Need From You!

  • Be a positive role model in your interactions with children and adults using the service.
  • Be familiar with, and adhere to, the values of WSCC and be compliant with key regulations, e.g. Health and Safety, safeguarding, standards, and procedures.
  • Be physically able to undertake all the required driving, transporting and maintenance aspects of the role, including opening and closing vehicle doors from inside and outside the vehicle, loading and unloading belongings, and carrying possessions to and from properties.
  • Be able to work as part of a committed and dynamic team to achieve the shared goal of delivering consistent and outstanding service.
