Bookkeeping Manager Chichester location Salary up to £42,000Butler Rose Public Practice are excited to be supporting a modern and growing accountancy practice in Chichester who are looking to hire a Bookkeeping Manager. This role will manage a team of 4 experienced bookkeepers and report directly to the firms' Partner. You will be responsible for the day to day running of the bookkeeping function, ensuring that all deadlines are met and that the work process is efficient. In addition, you will also manage your own portfolio of complex, varied bookkeeping clients. Role Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor a team of experienced Bookkeepers - assisting with queries where necessary and streamlining the work process.
  • Ensure all general bookkeeping is completed in a timely manner and that client deadlines are met.
  • Manage a portfolio of limited company, sole trader, and partnership clients from a diverse range of industry sectors.
  • Bank reconciliations, payroll, sales and purchase ledger, and financial reporting.
  • Completing full bookkeeping for all clients.

Person Responsibilities

  • At least 3+ years' experience as a Bookkeeper/Senior Accounts Assistant working for a UK based accountancy practice.
  • AAT qualified would be ideal but latter stages of AAT or candidates who are qualified by experience will also be considered.
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to liaise directly with clients.
  • The ability to be able to work independently, managing your own time, and ensuring deadlines are adhered to.
  • Previous experience managing people is not essential but excellent communication skills will be vital.
