Job Description:

We are seeking a proactive and experienced HR Advisor to join our Human Resources & Organisational Change Directorate. You will work collaboratively with HR Business Partners to support the delivery of Directorate/Service People Plans.

In this role, you will provide comprehensive and proactive HR generalist advice and guidance to managers in implementing HR policies and procedures across all aspects of Employee Relations. Your responsibilities will include addressing issues related to sickness absence, bullying and harassment, grievances, conduct, performance management, and recruitment, all in line with our policies, Employment Law, and best practices.

As a primary contact point for managers and employees seeking general HR advice and support, you will refer more complex issues to HR Senior Business Partners and HR Business Partners as necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver comprehensive HR generalist advice and support to managers and employees, ensuring timely and proactive management of employee relations casework.
  • Support HR Senior Business Partners and HR Business Partners in the operational delivery of People Plans and related activities.
  • Promote awareness and application of HR policies and procedures within the supported service area.
  • Assist directorates with resourcing requirements, including scheduling interviews and providing relevant support.
What You’ll Need to Succeed:
  • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively respond to manager and employee inquiries while maintaining professionalism and a commercially focused approach.
  • Credibility: Ability to quickly establish credible working relationships with clients to deliver a professional, accurate, and customer-focused service.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze and interpret information, conduct research, and produce written business reports.
  • Problem-Solving: Demonstrated evidence of having researched and resolved issues and contributed to HR policies and/or procedures reviews.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Working towards Level 5 in CIPD or equivalent qualification or experience.
  • Proven experience providing comprehensive HR generalist advice and support to managers regarding HR policies, practices, and processes, along with responding to employee inquiries.

  1. Ability to quickly establish credible working relationships with clients, delivering a professional, accurate, and customer-focused service.
  2. Strong analytical skills to interpret information and produce written reports.
