We have a unique opportunity with a client who is able to offer sponsorship for a Mechanical Building Services Engineer to join a forward-thinking Multi-Disciplinary Design & Build consultancy who work on exciting Commercial, Industrial & MOD projects across the UK!This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Mechanical Building Services Design Engineer to take ownership of all aspects of mechanical building services design, ensuring excellence in technical, contractual, and administrative project execution.Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Undertake and carry out detailed calculations for Ventilation, Heating, Domestic, Drainage, AC, Heat Loss/Heat Gains, etc.
  • Undertake and Carry Out Detailed Site Surveys, as required.
  • Be a client facing and will be heavily involved in design team meetings with clients, and the professional design team on various projects.
  • Development of design, to relevant RIBA Stages.
  • Write Feasibility Reports, Condition Survey Reports, and Specifications including to NBS Standards.
  • Review drawings.
  • To produce details of specifications and outline designs.
  • Assist in the mentoring of junior members of the team, and act as a role model.
  • Work with other design team/client groups and ensure the translation of their needs into the M&E design team and convey our needs to them.

Key Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in Building Services Design (Mech. Bias)
  • Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Building Services or similar, and ideally CIBSE Membership or working towards.
  • Able to undertake and carry out detailed calculations for Ventilation, Heating, Domestic, Drainage, AC, Heat Loss/Heat Gains, etc.
  • Able to undertake and Carry Out Detailed Site Surveys, as required.
  • Full Understanding of Building Regulations, CIBSE, BSRIA, and RIBA Plan of Works.
  • Translate conceptual design sympathetically with the building's architectural and functional requirements and develop the scheme to ensure overall objectives are met.
  • Keep up to date with innovations in building design and building services technology, including developments in plant and equipment, control systems, energy efficiency and regulations of relevant authorities.
  • Full Drivers Licence, and access to own vehicle for site visits.
