About the Role:

Supply Desk are working with a Secondary school based in Chichester that are seeking a full time Geography and Humanities Teacher to start September on a long-term contract until the summer. The role will be teaching in Key Stage 3 and KS4 in the timetable too. The School are looking to appoint an excellent Geography and Humanities teacher that comes with good recent experience and is passionate about teaching Geography and Humanities to students in Key Stage 3 and 4.

Overview:

Supply Desk are currently seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Geography and Humanities Teacher to join a Secondary School based in the Chichester area on a long-term contract with the possibility of a permanent contract. The role would be starting September on a long-term contract until at least July 24. The successful candidate will be teaching Geography to students in KS3 and KS4, working in a supportive department.

About the School:

The School is a mixed Secondary School for students aged from 11 to 16 years with around 700 students in total. The School is based in Chichester. The school was graded as a Good School in its last Ofsted inspection and continues to perform well. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and effective Geography and Humanities lessons.
  • Monitor and assess students' progress, providing feedback and support to ensure academic development.
  • Create a positive and stimulating classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance the overall educational experience.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, training, and professional development opportunities.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the curriculum and best teaching practices.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Degree in Geography or a related Humanities subject.
  • Proven experience teaching Geography/Humanities at KS3 and KS4 levels.
  • Strong classroom management skills and the ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to continuous professional development and a willingness to contribute to the wider school community.
