West Sussex County - Senior Social Work PractitionerWorking Pattern: Full TimeContract Length: PermanentLocation: Horsham, PO19 1RQSalary: £45,441 to £48,474Here are the key duties:  
  • responds to cover the full spectrum of life across West Sussex and we are looking for postholders who can bring new skills, knowledge and background to an already diverse team. An ability to rapidly risk assess situations and engage with people who may be in crisis is key to the role. You will utilise these skills to develop and implement effective plans of support, aimed at improving wellbeing and delivering better outcomes for people as well as contributing to and developing skills in safeguarding. The hub will triage all safeguarding referrals submitted to the Local Authority, initiate all safeguarding enquiries and develop initial safeguarding plans.
  
  • You will manage, and support others to manage, a varied, complex and challenging caseload. You will have a role in improving the practice of unregistered and registered social care practitioners and developing, leading, and championing best practice and professional standards. You will advise others and facilitate access to and dissemination of more specialist advice where necessary to further develop capability and professional confidence. You will be supported with professional supervision and a workload that is appropriate to your level of professional development.
  
  • You will work effectively in collaboration with staff and other agencies and have an excellent understanding of all the relevant health, voluntary and private sector services in the area. You will remain up-to-date and compliant with all relevant legislation and adhere to organisational procedures, policies, and codes of conduct as well as Social Work England professional standards to uphold a high-quality, seamless service. You will be required to undertake post-qualifying training and to maintain records of training in line with registration requirements.
  
  • You may be required to travel throughout the county, including to locations that are not always easily accessible by public transport. There is a regular and intrinsic requirement to communicate in English with members of the public.
