Maintenance Manager

Are you an experienced Maintenance Manager with a strong background in electrical and mechanical engineering? Do you have a passion for optimising the efficiency of equipment and systems in a fast-paced, fresh produce environment? If so, we want to hear from you!

We're looking for a Maintenance Manager to join a highly respected leader in soft fruit production. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of all glasshouse and associated equipment, contributing to the success of a dynamic, growing company.



The Role:

As the Maintenance Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing the routine servicing and inspection of electrical, mechanical, and facility equipment (including boilers, high-pressure pumps, and gearboxes).
  • Communicating technical issues to the relevant teams, particularly those responsible for heat pumps or CHPs maintenance.
  • Maintaining accurate records of all repair and maintenance work, ensuring compliance with safety standards.
  • Quickly identifying, repairing, and refurbishing any defects or malfunctions to minimize downtime.
  • Taking ownership of key maintenance projects and seeing them through to successful completion.
  • Coordinating and providing feedback on the performance and functionality of machinery and equipment.


You:

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A background in fresh produce or agricultural environments is highly desirable.
  • Proven experience in managing commercial HVAC systems, industrial boilers, and heating systems (ideally with experience in glasshouse heating).
  • Hands-on experience in maintenance and repair of production machinery is a plus.
  • Skills in fabrication (lathe and welding) would be an added advantage.
  • A valid UK/EU driving license is essential.
  • Flexibility with working hours, including potential callouts, to meet operational needs.
  • The ability to lead and motivate teams, ensuring high performance and collaboration.
