Job Purpose

As the Senior FP&A Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring best-in-class financial planning, budgeting, reforecasting, and board reporting, with the aim of driving business value and efficiency. You will work closely with engineers, supervisors, the finance team, the Senior Management Team, and the Board to support sustainable growth and robust financial solutions.

Main duties and responsibilities

- Lead the preparation and delivery of annual budgets, rolling forecasts, and long-term financial plans.

- Perform detailed financial analysis, including variance analysis, profitability assessments, and scenario planning.

- Produce monthly management accounts and comprehensive financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

- Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor financial health and operational efficiency.

- Provide insightful financial analysis and recommendations to senior management to support decision-making.

- Work closely with department heads to align financial plans with overall business objectives.

- Monitor business performance, identify trends, and recommend actions to meet financial targets.

- Improve financial models and reporting systems, driving process improvements.

- Support the preparation of board packs, investor reports, and strategic presentations.

- Liaise with external auditors and stakeholders to ensure compliance with financial standards.

- Take ownership of advanced Excel-based models for financial planning, forecasting, and reporting.

- Analyse and optimize KPIs, including revenue pipeline, gross margin by contract, engineer efficiency, and working capital.

Experience & Skills

- Qualified accountant (ICAEW/ACCA/CIMA) with experience in similar roles.

- Proven experience in financial planning and analysis, preferably in a high-growth business. Private equity experience is advantageous.

- Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes.

- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to manage tight deadlines.

- Advanced Excel skills (e.g., financial modelling, pivot tables, data analysis).

- Experience driving improvements in financial processes.

- Exceptional communication skills for presenting financial data to non-financial stakeholders.

- Ability to work independently and manage workload in a fast-paced environment.

- Sufficient gravitas to deputize for the CFO/FC when required.

- Solid IT skills. Knowledge of Power BI or other business intelligence tools is desirable.
