ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT / PURCHASE LEDGER CLERK - PART TIME

LOUGHTON, EPPING

£26,000 to £28,000 Pro-Rata (Full Time Equivalent) + TREAT BENEFITS

Please Note: This is a part time vacancy for a candidate looking for 21 to 28 hours per week (Equivalent to a 3 or 4-day working week), dependent on the number of hours, our client is happy for someone to do the 3 to 4 days as either full days, or spread the hours across 5 days, Mon-Fri)

THE COMPANY:

We're exclusively partnering with a highly successful business located in the Lougton area (Epping).

As part of their expansion plans, they're now looking for a Part Time Accounts Assistant / Purchase Ledger Clerk to join the finance team. You'll be involved in processing purchase invoices, matching to PO numbers and Stock, Preparing the monthly payment run, bank / supplier reconciliation, managing supplier queries and in the future, expenses.

THE ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT / PURCHASE LEDGER CLERK ROLE:

  • As the Accounts Assistant / Purchase Ledger Clerk, you'll be working closely with the Finance Manager and taking responsibility for the Accounts Payable function
  • Processing purchase invoices, matching to PO's & stock, allocating to the correct project and nominal code
  • Handling supplier account queries and resolving
  • Requesting supplier statements and conducing reconciliation
  • Managing the new supplier process, including anti-fraud checks
  • Preparing supplier payment run for approval by the Finance Manager
  • Assisting with the queries from the external accountant during year end
  • Providing support with Sales Ledger and Bank Reconciliation tasks as and when required
  • In future, assisting with Employee expenses and Credit Card statements.

THE CANDIDATE:

  • Must have experience within an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant Purchase Ledger Clerk, Accounts Payable role, or similar.
  • Studying or already completed a AAT Qualifications, however, this is not an essential requirement
  • Experience with Purchase Ledger responsibilities
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Any experience with Dynamics365 / MS Business Central would be an advantage, however, experience of using accounting systems is essential
