Your new roleHays are partnered with a leading national business based near Chippenham to recruit a part-qualified Management Accountant to their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified, or qualified by experience, finance professional with experience preparing accounting packs including variance analysis, identifying process improvements, balance sheet reconciliations, and senior stakeholder engagement.Supporting the divisional Finance Manager, you'll be a confident and competent 'number 2' in the team, with the proven ability to work autonomously and have tasks and projects delegated to you in a fast paced, changing environment. As such this role will provide continued exposure and further career progression, for the right individual. Supporting junior members of the team may be required from time to time, so experience coaching or supervising junior finance professionals is highly beneficial.Key responsibilities include:

  • Monthly production of management accounts including variance analysis.
  • Reconciliation of the balance sheet with query resolution.
  • Responsibility for budgeting and forecasting process, supporting with information provision.
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Reviewing key overhead spend categories and providing analytical insights for decision making.
  • Ad hoc support to the wider finance team.

What you'll need to succeedYou'll need to be an experienced finance professional - likely part-qualified ACCA or CIMA or QBE - with experience of balance sheet reconciliations and management accounting, ideally in a fast paced, high volume environment with senior stakeholder engagement. What you'll get in return
