EYFS Teaching Assistant / Early Years Classroom Assistant - SN15

My client, a welcoming and supportive primary school, is looking for an EYFS Teaching Assistant to join their Early Years team on a part-time, term-time-only basis. This is a temporary role until July 2025 with the potential to become permanent after a structural review. What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting Early Years learners through engaging activities and structured play.
  • Assisting in planning and delivering a spiralised curriculum that revisits key concepts.
  • Using visual and concrete learning resources to enhance children’s understanding.
  • Encouraging independence, confidence, and communication in young learners.
  • Following teacher and SENDCo guidance to support children’s individual needs.

About You

  • Be able to do the job as described.
  • Experience working with Early Years children in a classroom setting.
  • Knowledge of Total Communication strategies to support learning.
  • Understanding of Emotional Literacy or Mental Health needs in children.
  • Strong teamwork and initiative with a flexible approach.
