Role: Solar PV Engineer – O&M

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000

Location: Hampshire (Site travel)

MDE Group is hiring on behalf of a leading EPC service provider in the solar power industry. With a strong international presence and a commitment to advancing the European energy transition, we are looking for talented individuals to join our team.

They are one of the world’s leading EPC service providers in developing, constructing, and operating solar power plants. Founded To date, they have installed over 450 PV systems with a total output of more than 4 GW worldwide. As one of the largest O&M service providers, they also manage the operation and maintenance of over 1.5 GW of PV plants.

Key Responsibilities:

• Routine maintenance, testing, and remedial work on deployed solar PV systems.
• Perform Preventative and Corrective Maintenance as per the annual plan.
• Report activities performed on-site through an online system.
• Supervise and coordinate third-party contractors.
• Fault finding of both AC and DC systems.
• Conduct job-specific risk assessments and report all near misses to the manager.
• Ensure compliance with all fire, health, and safety requirements.
• Occasionally stay overnight if required and participate in a weekend rota once trained on remote monitoring systems.

Skills Required:

• Level 3 City & Guilds/NVQ qualification in Electrical Installations.
• C&G 2382-18 and C&G 2391-52 or equivalent.
• HV AP qualification and First Aid Trained.
• Knowledge of AC and DC electrical systems, CCTV, and SCADA systems.
• 3+ years in Solar PV O&M ground mount.
• Desirable: Harness Trained, Fire Marshal, H/S IOSH qualification, and Central Inverter manufacturer training.
