Our client is a well-established and successful manufacturer with a global presence. They are looking for an experienced Production Planner / Planning & Scheduling Manager to join their team at Chippenham.

They are looking to fill this role with a permanent person, however they are open to a Contractor (daily rate) to cover the role until a permanent person is found.  Should you start contracting and feel you wish to switch to permanent, the option is there.

The Planning and Schedule Manager role is to ensure the efficient and effective supply of the products produced in the territory through coordination of the Planning function for territory covering the:

•    Sales & Operations Execution Meeting.
•    Coordinate work of detailed Schedulers and Material Planners from aggregated monthly plan generate by supply.
•    Support fulfilment function with availability and OTIF.
•    Work with site leaders on improving production adherence, discuss on daily basis any deviation from production plan. Resolve short term issues impacting products availability.
•    Manage raw material planning, material call offs.
•    Lead improvement projects in area of short and long-term factory performance.
•    To be successful requires high level of interaction with many stakeholders such as: Site Managers, Distribution Managers, Finance, Sales Managers, Customer Service Leads, Fulfilment Planners, Production Planners from other sites across EMEA, and project leaders from various departments.
•    It also requires to development of the team successfully and embed best-practice ways of working.

Responsibilities:

•    Support of weekly S&OE meeting for the assigned production plants.
•    Support in IBP process (capacity constraints, utilization, short term issues, force majeure).
•    Coordination of material planners (BOM materials and subcontracting) and detailed schedulers for various supply scenarios execution.
•    Production plan adjustment based on weekly review of monthly progress and order book (FC consumption) with detailed schedulers in all production facilities within territory.
•    Support of slow mover’s stock management process (obsolete, blocked stock, MTO without allocation) for assign production plants.
•    Assure proper control of SAP master data. Maintain material process creation according MDG guidelines.
•    Execute plans of introduction of new products and phase-out of old products to assure the optimal availability and minimum obsolescence within the assign production plants.
•    Urgently react to changes in demand or supply to minimize obsolescence and inventory while maximizing customer service.
•    Propose and drive improvements in raw materials & components purchase (consignments, vendor stock etc) as well as subcontracting.
•    Continuous drive for optimising working capital, costs, and service.
•    Address all availability issues of Finish Goods within the team.
•    Lead and implement projects for continuous improvement of factory planning performance.
•    Assure Health & Safety standards adherence.
•    Lead and develop team to build required competencies and continuously drive operational excellence.

Applicant Requirements:

•    3 years+ experience in production and material planning in big scale production.
•    Manufacturing production planning and stock management experience in a high-volume environment.
•    Systems knowledge and experience of SAP R/3 (MM and PP), APO SNP.
•    Knowledge and experience of Reporting & Analytics: SAP BW / BO, MS Office.
•    Effective and pro-active communication to a wide audience, both ‘up’ and ‘down’.
•    Good analytical skills and problem-solving skills.
•    Ability to prioritize, manage and complete projects under a deadline.
•    Tactical and Operational Planning knowledge and experience.
•    People management (small teams, project teams).
•    Skilled influencer.
•    Excellent analytical skills. 

Salary: Daily rate (negotiable depending on experience)

Standard day shift hours (TBC), likely to be 8.00am – 4.30pm.
