Risk & Compliance Opportunity

Job Title: Risk & Compliance Lawyer (Non Qualified)Location: Flexible, with consideration for multiple office locations.Position Type: Part-time, permanent, ideally 2-3 days per week (maximum of 21 hours). Can be flexible with days and hours if necessary.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for a Risk & Compliance Lawyer to support a Risk & Compliance Consultant in managing regulatory and compliance matters. You will assist with complaints handling, GDPR/DSAR requests, Anti-Money Laundering (AML) procedures, and regulatory compliance across different professional environments. This role will involve liaising with different departments to ensure policies and procedures align with legal and industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Risk & Compliance Consultant with various compliance projects.
  • Monitoring regulatory updates related to AML and GDPR and recommending policy adjustments.
  • Assisting with internal compliance training and identifying training needs.
  • Handling client complaints and liaising with relevant stakeholders.
  • Assisting with internal audits and accreditation processes.
  • Supporting the renewal of professional indemnity (PI) and cyber insurance policies through report production.
  • Ensuring continued compliance with relevant legislation and industry standards.
  • Reviewing data privacy implications in new policies and procedures.

What We Need From You:

Skills (Essential):

  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in IT tools including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management and ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Sharp critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to conduct research and analyse legal/regulatory updates.

Experience (Essential):

  • Previous experience in a professional services/legal environment.
  • Knowledge or experience in legal compliance, risk management, and/or regulatory frameworks.

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Experience in handling complaints, GDPR, AML, or compliance-related work.
  • Experience with accreditation and internal audits.
