On offer is the opportunity to join a long-standing manufacturer of wastewater treatment solutions, where you will be responsible for the management of both mechanical and electrical design engineers and be accountable for the development of standard products and specific designs.

The Role:

• Introduce and deploy new technologies and products.
• Develop standardized design packages, delivering well-engineered, cost-effective solutions for customers.
• Collaborate with the Process Development Manager to conduct trials, validate equipment performance, and enhance products.
• Prepare standard technical documentation for products, including manuals, drawings, product structures, and test schedules.
• Supervise control panel design, ensuring both standard and project-specific solutions are met.
• Optimize the allocation of electrical and mechanical design resources by efficiently scheduling workloads.
• Track departmental output in terms of design, assembly, and material costs.
• Hire temporary staff or outsource tasks to meet fixed deadlines.
• Ensure compliance with technical standards.
• Review and update standard specifications (e.g., WIMES specs, water company standards) and product compliance.
• Create standardized comment sheets for tenders and projects.
• Assess the training needs of employees under your supervision.
• Coordinate with the HR Manager to recruit staff within your department.
• Monitor, evaluate, and motivate the employees under your supervision.

The Person:

• HNC/ HND or higher in an engineering discipline and currently hold a management position in the relevant field.
• Be competent in reading/reviewing engineering drawings and technical specifications and have some working knowledge of CAD.
• You will have experience in both the design and fabrication of machinery/ equipment.
