Our client, a leading organisation based in Chippenham, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Stores Person to join their team. As a Stores Person, you will play a crucial role in maintaining inventory levels and ensuring the smooth operation of the organisation's stock control system.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor inventory levels and make informed decisions on stock replenishment based on guidance from the computerised stock system.
  • Organise and maintain existing inventory, ensuring it is easily and safely accessible.
  • Keep accurate records of stock deliveries, ensuring all items are accounted for and in good condition.
  • Develop efficient systems and processes for stock control.
  • Accept deliveries of stock, ensuring they are not damaged and all items ordered are present.
  • Facilitate the return of faulty goods and products.
  • Ensure the safety and security of the stock.
  • Enforce health and safety rules within the storeroom and provide training to staff on proper practises and emergency procedures.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience managing an Engineering Stores
  • Forklift licence
  • Confident and capable individual with problem-solving skills and the ability to use initiative.
  • Self-motivated and adaptable to changing priorities.
  • Proficient in using IT systems and spreadsheets.
  • Good understanding of Health and Safety at Work regulations.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with good mathematical abilities.
