The Burford Recruitment Company are delighted to be working with a Private Household client to find an organised team player, with a good eye for detail to join their team at their property in the Cotswolds.

You will work with one other Housekeeper, reporting into a Head Housekeeper. Your responsibilities will include:

Responsibilities:
  • Performing thorough and meticulous cleaning of all living spaces, including bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, dining areas, and recreational areas.
  • Organising and arranging items and furniture in a tidy and aesthetically pleasing manner.
  • Handling laundry duties, including washing, ironing, folding, and storing clothes and linens properly.
  • Managing household inventories, restocking supplies as needed and maintaining a record of household items.
  • Safely handling valuable and delicate items, such as antiques, art pieces, and collectibles, using suitable cleaning methods and products.
  • Performing specific cleaning tasks as required, such as caring for fine fabrics, silverware, crystal, and other luxury items.
  • Assisting in preparing the residence for guests and events, ensuring all spaces are immaculate, well-presented, and adequately stocked.
  • Serving at dinners and parties and assisting with clearing up.
  • Pet care may be required such as walking, grooming, feeding and trips to the vet
  • Maintaining a high level of discretion and respect for the privacy of the employer and their family.
  • Reporting any maintenance issues, repairs, or required replacements to House Director or Head Housekeeper.
  • Communicating with other household staff to ensure a coordinated approach to daily operations.
Work Schedule:

The family, which currently consists of two adults and one child, are very friendly, but they have a high expectation with regard to cleanliness and organisation.

Flexibility is key. You will need to be adaptable to changing schedules and last-minute requests, as the needs of UHNW individuals can vary, but your general work pattern will be:

  • From 8:00am to 6:30pm, Monday to Friday
  • Bi-weekly Saturday shift of 8am to 2pm, workings hours will be adjusted to ensure they remain under 48 hours
  • Housekeepers’ holidays are required to coincide with the family’s holidays (The family travels often, and you will be notified of holiday periods well in advance, allowing you to plan time off).
Experience:

To be successful in the role you will be able to demonstrate experience in a similar role, working with UHNW families in a private household. Previous experience in silver service, and laundry services would also be beneficial.

You will have a positive attitude, maintaining good working relationships with other household staff, as well as having a gentle personality and a fondness for children and pets.
