An Oxfordshire based F1 Team are currently recruiting Inspectors to work a variety of shifts (days/nights/weekends) during their winter build, running from now until March 2025 at their facility in Chipping Norton. There will be overtime available during peak periods. Rates as follows:
UMBRELLA: £26-£33 per hour - DOE
PAYE: £20-£25 per hour (+ holiday pay) - DOE
Rates offered will depend on skill level
Duties will include but are not limited to:
- Identifying and carrying out appropriate inspection methods on metallic and composite components, as defined by drawing information and department guidelines.
- Check material and treatment documentation is correct and in accordance with route operations and technical specifications.
- Where a non-conformance is found, ensure it is recorded clearly and concisely within company systems.
- Working as part of team with a common goal, while also being able to set own daily objectives and priorities.
- Meeting deadlines set by event calendars and department requirements using company systems
- Process workload and release to next operation as soon as possible.
- Inspect parts to drawing, using GD&T and supporting guidelines to agreed sampling rates.
- Record essential part tracking information and job completion information.
- Provide first off support to manufacturing departments in a clear and effective manner.
- Provide a professional and courteous service to all other departments.
- Work with management, designers and manufactures to support improvements to product development and inspection thereof.
- Work with management to improve department efficiency and capability via TIP Document containing your feedback and ideas.
- Part mark and life parts as detailed on drawings in line with standard operating procedures ensuring correct traceability and marking methods are adhered too.
Background/Skills:
- Strong engineering background with ability to read engineering drawings.
- Able to apply GD&T effectively and pick out relevant information to record conformance to drawing.
- Ability to read and understanding technical specification documents, record findings in a clear and effective manner.
- Robust working knowledge of Coordinate Measuring Machines, 6 & 7axis arms, bench tools, and traditional inspection workshop equipment.
- Create and edit existing inspection programmes for CMM’s, both on machine and offline.
- Good numeracy and spelling skills with attention to detail that enables effective recording of non-conformities.
- PC Literate with good working knowledge of MS Office Products. particularly Outlook, Excel and Word.
- Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions.
- Competent using ERP System – ideally Microsoft 365
- Use of laser part marker and printing equipment.
- File management of hard and soft copy documentation.
- Ability to create a positive profile for yourself and the department.
- Flexible approach to working, in order to achieve self and team targets, within a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to remain focused and objective under pressure, working to deadlines and with minimum supervision.
- Excellent and effective oral and written communicator to ensure appropriate information is recorded and passed to relevant parties.
- Team player with a ‘can do’ approach.
