Christmas Cover - Care Assistant to a young disabled female at home
We have an amazing opportunity for you to become a temporary Personal Assistant to a first year Neuroscience student, returning home from University for the Christmas break. She is looking for support at her family home from like-minded, caring individuals. Due to the remote location, access to your own vehicle is essential.
Location: Middle Barton, Oxford (OX7)
Dates: 14th December to 4th January
Hours: Monday to Sunday / Between 8am and 10pm with on call hours will be discussed during the interview stage
Pay: £160 per day
YOU WILL NEED TO BE ON CALL OUTSIDE OF THE ABOVE HOURS (This will be discussed on your initial screening call)
About the Job
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive difference in somebody elses life. Our client is a full-time electric wheelchair user and requires assistance with many aspects of daily life. Daily duties include but not limited to:
- Personal Care - Toileting, showering, getting dressed
- Health Care - Administering medication
- Social Support
- Daily Living - Cooking, Cleaning
Care experience is not required as full training in our client's particular requirements will be provided.

My disability does not dictate my life and is not something I dwell on.I love to read and get incredibly fixated on specific topics for a couple of weeks and to then go and completely forget them three months later. My latest fixation has been on North Korea random! If all goes well, I will start driving lessons within the next couple of years to further increase by independence.
Having grown up in a rural village I am looking forward to exploring the city of my university at the weekend with friends. However, I also enjoy quiet nights in watching Netflix so how I spend the weekends is likely to be varied as well.
You will need:
-Access to own transport (Essential)
-Comfortable with pets - the client has a labrador and a cat
-To be punctual in daily life
-Respectful of the clients home environment
-To be physically fit, calm, patient, friendly, and caring
-Good organisational skills and the ability to work on your own initiative
-Personable with a proactive attitude to work
-A mature and responsible attitude
