Electrical Supervisor

Location: Chirnside, Scotland

We are recruiting on behalf of a forward-thinking and innovative client based in Chirnside, Scotland. Specialising in crafting world-class heat-seal tea, coffee, and fibrous meat casing solutions, their products make a global impact. With a team of around 160 employees and significant investment in state-of-the-art technology, including a new production line, they’re now looking for a skilled Electrical Engineering Supervisor to join their team.

The Role

As an Engineering Supervisor, you will play a critical role in leading the engineering team while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. Key responsibilities include:

• Supervising Electrical Technicians and Instrumentation Engineers to ensure compliance with regulations and standards.
• Planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance and electrical work while prioritising safety, deadlines, and resource management.
• Monitoring project progress and adjusting work plans as necessary.
• Diagnosing electrical faults and implementing improvements, upgrades, and project initiatives.
• Ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies at all times.

What Our Client is Looking For:

To succeed in this role, you should have:

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the paper industry or a similar process-driven sector.
• HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering.
• Strong leadership experience, with a proven ability to manage teams effectively.
• Excellent problem-solving and project management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with PLC programming.
• HV Switching up to 11kV.
• Knowledge of Variable Speed Drives (VSDs).
• Competence with AutoCAD or similar software.
