An Accounts Senior opportunity within a growing firm of Chartered Accountants & Business Advisors offering future progression to Client / Portfolio Manager.

The firm has developed a strong reputation as Accountant & Advisor to entrepreneurs and SME business owners (c.£200k - £10m t./o businesses) and provides its clients with Accounts, Tax, Payroll, Business Advisory and Outsourced Financial Management solutions. Using a variety of cloud and digital accounting systems the firm gives clients full visibility into the financial performance of their business and implements effective cost reduction and profit improvement strategies.

THE OPPORTUNITY

An Accounts Senior opportunity has arisen within the firm focusing on SME Accounting and Business Services which offers responsibility for a range of client for managing clients, reviewing work completed by junior staff and overseeing delivery of the firm's bespoke solutions.

As an Accounts Senior your role will involve:

  • Working closely with SME clients (c.£250k - £10m t/o), including owner-managed, family owned and entrepreneurial SME businesses
  • Reviewing the Bookkeeping / VAT and Quarterly Management Accounts work produce by junior staff
  • Supporting Directors within the practice and contributing to the growth strategy
  • Preparing Monthly Management Accounts, presenting accounts and advising clients
  • Preparation of Year-end Accounts and Tax Computations
  • Use of Xero and other online software packages on a daily basis

THE PERSON

You will be an Accountancy professional able to demonstrate the following:

  • AAT Qualified or Part-Qualified Accountant (ACA / ACCA)
  • Background within Accountancy Practice (c.4-5 years)
  • Experience of preparing Management Accounts, Year-End Accounts and Tax Computations
  • Experience of working with SME and Owner-Managed businesses
  • Good working knowledge of Xero and possibly other online / cloud accounting software
