A new position has arisen for an experienced Financial Controller to report directly to the CEO and Group CFO. This will role will form part of the site senior management team and will play an active part in the formation and execution of company strategy along with day to day management of the business. Experience of driving forward projects to identify opportunities for growth within the organisational environment will be a key quality sought.

You will be responsible for managing, monitoring and reporting a variety of financial targets overseeing all financial accounting and reporting systems. Working collaboratively to increase profitability by controlling and reducing costs, enhancing reporting and business analysis capability whilst also ensuring key financial risks are understood and managed appropriately. The key responsibilities will include:

  • Day-to-day management of the finance team, including: recruitment, training and development
  • Production of monthly management accounts including P&L, balance sheets and cash flows providing commentary on results and key variances
  • Managing cash flow and expenses by monitoring transactions and reviewing internal reports
  • Development of budgets and financial forecasts and presenting reports to management
  • Regulatory reporting including production of quarterly returns and preparation of wind-down assessments
  • Ensure maintenance of general ledger, with all financial transactionsproperly recorded, filed and reported
  • Prepare year end IFRS compliant financial statements
  • Act as a key point of contact for external auditors and management of the audit process
  • Review all financial plans and budgets to identify cost reduction opportunities
  • Collaboration with the senior leadership team to ensure operational and financial KPIs are developed, reported against and controlled.

The ideal candidate for this role must be a fully qualified ACA/CIMA/ACCA accountant with experience of a Senior Finance Manager / Financial Controller level role. Previous experience of operating in a regulated environment would be preferred but not essential. You should have a strong background in both financial and management accounting and be an experienced user of accounting and ERP systems. The role will require a degree of coaching and mentoring to develop the finance team to create a culture of continuous improvement and empowerment. You should have excellent business judgement, exceptional analytical and planning skills coupled with the ability to communicate at all levels in the organisation.
