Chartered Civil / Structural Engineer

Location: Cockermouth / Chorley preferred or Home Worker, 50:50 split between office and site inspections

Duration: 12 months

Clearance: BPSS

Rate: £50 per hour, outside of IR35

 

Role is required as part of a 5 Year contract (4 remaining) for LC28 Magnox inspections, there is currently a lack of suitable resource internally able to spend time away from home for inspections.

Responsibilities:

  • Integrate and co-ordinate the design activities on projects.
  • Ensuring that all design decisions are documented and traceable throughout the lifetime of the project.
  • Monitoring overall design performances (quality) against the project programme and budget and provide feedback to the Project Responsible Person.
  • Ensuring that all technical issues and risks on projects are identified and maintaining the technical risk register, managing the action plan to address these risks.
  • Expediting important technical decisions and approvals that may affect progress.
  • Working with the Project Managers to develop an appropriate engineering delivery strategy to ensure that the design can be delivered under the agreed strategy.
  • Ensure the coordination of project generated design documents with those provided by subcontractors or equipment suppliers
  • Maintaining and communicating the engineering programme and work breakdown structure.

Requirements:

  • Must be a chartered engineer with Nuclear building inspection experience.
