Our client based in Chorley is looking for an experienced CNC Programmer/Setter on a permanent basis, the client is a well-respected manufacturer who has experience programming and setting up CNC machines to complete existing and new product samples.

The Job

  • Programming using Fanuc Controls and setting up a Hurco CNC Machines to complete new product/different functions
  • Change the tooling of the CNC machine
  • Observe machine operation to verify accuracy of machine settings and to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, using precision measuring instruments such as micrometer and vernier calliper.
  • Adjust machine control, including part process
  • Verify “first piece inspection” using appropriate measuring instruments
  • Generally, monitor the work being undertaken and completed, testing and taking agreed critical measurements to identify problems and the need for adjustment etc and to immediately make any adjustments as necessary.
  • Varied manual machining and finishing tasks on range of components

About You

  • To have an engineering background and role with a minimum experience of 2 years
  • Experience using Fanuc Controls
  • Ability to read and interpret component and assembly drawings.
  • Have experience inspecting products
  • Have experience inspecting production
  • Experience with production process evaluation and improvement
  • Ideally will have knowledge of machined and fabricated parts
  • To have good IT/Computer skills
  • Able to communicate effectively at all levels within the company
  • Be able to work under their own initiative
