Our client based in Chorley is looking for an experienced CNC Programmer/Setter on a permanent basis, the client is a well-respected manufacturer who has experience programming and setting up CNC machines to complete existing and new product samples.
The Job
- Programming using Fanuc Controls and setting up Hurco Conversational CNC machines to complete new product/different functions
- Change the tooling of the CNC machine
- Observe machine operation to verify accuracy of machine settings and to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining, using precision measuring instruments such as micrometer and vernier calliper.
- Adjust machine control, including part process
- Verify first piece inspection using appropriate measuring instruments
- Generally, monitor the work being undertaken and completed, testing and taking agreed critical measurements to identify problems and the need for adjustment etc and to immediately make any adjustments as necessary.
- Varied manual machining and finishing tasks on range of components
About You
- To have an engineering background and role with a minimum experience of 2 years
- Experience with Fanuc Controls
- Ability to read and interpret component and assembly drawings.
- Have experience inspecting products
- Have experience inspecting production
- Experience with production process evaluation and improvement
- Ideally will have knowledge of machined and fabricated parts
- To have good IT/Computer skills
- Able to communicate effectively at all levels within the company
- Be able to work under their own initiative
