Job Purpose

As a Deputy Manager with Brinscall Care, youll play a vital role in leading and supporting a dedicated team to deliver high-quality, therapeutic residential care for children who have faced significant challenges. Youll foster a safe, nurturing environment that promotes healing, resilience, and personal growth, where each child feels valued and secure.

In this role, you will work closely with the Registered Manager to uphold the highest standards of care, in line with our Statement of Purpose and trauma-informed principles. Your leadership will drive positive practices, ensure regulatory compliance, and promote a culture of compassion and accountability. Youll empower both staff and young people, oversee care plans, and provide guidance that builds a cohesive, supportive team environment.

Deputy Manager Responsibilities

Supporting Childrens Needs:

  • Oversee and regularly review personalised care plans, ensuring they address each young persons unique needs.
  • Participate in care planning and review meetings, advocating for positive outcomes.
  • Assign and support Key Workers, guiding them in implementing care plans.
  • Set and maintain high standards in line with our Statement of Purpose.
  • Encourage young peoples input on their care experience.
  • Address safeguarding concerns and complaints promptly to uphold a safe and nurturing environment.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Support recruitment, induction, and retention of high-quality staff.
  • Provide guidance, supervision, and professional support to staff members.
  • Facilitate a positive work culture through effective leadership, motivation, and recognition.
  • Identify training needs and promote skill development within the team.
  • Address staff conduct and performance issues as necessary, fostering accountability and excellence.

Operational and Resource Management:

  • Manage staffing levels to meet the home's needs and ensure proper rota scheduling.
  • Maintain policies for health, safety, and equality within the workplace.
  • Oversee administrative and budget management to support effective operations.
  • Ensure accurate reporting and record-keeping in compliance with Quality Standards.

General Standards and Professional Conduct:

  • Uphold Brinscall Cares policies, promoting a safe, supportive, and compliant environment.
  • Act as a role model, fostering secure and positive relationships among staff and young people.
  • Engage in regular training and professional development to stay informed on care standards and best practices.
  • Take on additional leadership duties in the absence of the Registered Manager, ensuring continuity in care and support across the home.
