MI Analyst

Hybrid Working - Chorley Office (2 Days per Week)

Southam Selections are currently working with a Credit Hire company based in Chorley who are now seeking to find an MI analyst to join their team on a full time basis.

As an MI Analyst, you'll play a pivotal role in transforming their MI function from traditional reporting to delivering actionable insights that shape the future of the business. This is the ideal opportunity for a talented Data/MI Analyst eager to see the direct results of their efforts in a forward-thinking and supportive environment.

You’ll need to have extensive experience advocating for MI within a business, prioritising projects to have the biggest impact in the shortest space of time.

Ideally you will have experience within motor / credit hire / insurance.

Responsibilities for MI Analyst

  • To create, maintain and update Management Information reporting on daily, weekly and Monthly basis.
  • To support the back office management teams to ensure they have the relevant information required to carry out business based strategic decisions.
  • To understand all analysis produced, so it can be commented on for changing environments and audiences.
  • To question, validate and correct MI produced elsewhere to ensure it is fit for use.To create on/off analysis on issues arising to understand the risks and opportunities faced.
  • Build reports from scratch to a specification from management.
  • Test reports when changes are made to ensure the output is what is expected.
  • Build and document all end to end reporting (including version control).
  • To support Senior Managers with ad-hoc requests from different areas of the business.
  • Build a sound knowledge of the business by creating and maintaining key contacts who you will support in the long term.
  • Contribute to the successful team environment with the aim of meeting team, departmental and organisational objectives.
  • Ensuring that reporting deadlines are met.
  • Build a good working relationship.

What We’re Looking For:

• At least 2-3 years of experience in MI/BI/Data Analytics

• Advanced proficiency in Power BI

• Hands-on experience with the Power Platform, especially Power Automate

• Strong SQL skills

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with a track record of influencing decisions and championing the value of data

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Familiarity with credit hire, insurance, legal, or motor-related industries

• Experience with data warehousing
