Your new companyThis managed service provider has an excellent reputation for providing a high level of IT support to schools across the North West, supporting in both the primary and secondary sectors and, due to growth, they are looking for a Field IT Technician to support schools across Chorley & Bolton. The MSP has retained customers over a number of years due to the excellent level of service they provide and the efficient support they provide to schools and the end users, overall contributing to the positive use of IT in the classroom. The successful IT Technician will be joining an established team of IT Technicians where you will be fully trained and supported upon joining the organisation. Please note that for this role, you must have access to your own car and have a valid UK driving licence. Your new roleReporting to the IT Service Manager, you will be responsible for providing IT support on-site in primary schools on a daily basis, typically visiting 2 schools per day which will be based locally to each other. The schools will also be based in the Chorley & Bolton areas, and you will be providing IT support for both hardware and software, as well as supporting with bespoke technologies used in the education sector. When visiting schools, you will build and install hardware which could also include interactive whiteboards and AV equipment, and you will update and install software on both PCs and laptops, as well as support with networking and mobile devices. As an I Technician in the education sector, you will receive rounded experience as you will deal with a range of IT issues and this role will therefore give you the opportunity to further develop your own skills and experience. What you'll need to succeedTo be successful in securing this position, you will have first-line IT support experience and will ideally have experience working in the education sector; however, this isn't essential. You will have strong communication skills and a passion for providing a high level of IT support when on site and will be keen to work in this rewarding sector. Please also note you must have your own vehicle and a valid UK driving licence.
