Imperial Recruitment, are seeking an experienced and motivated Senior or Principal C&I Engineer to support the EC&I discipline within a well-established engineering organisation. This role involves the delivery of complex engineering tasks across a range of projects, supporting business development opportunities, and ensuring compliance with legal and client requirements.

This is a key role for a technically proficient individual who enjoys working collaboratively and is committed to driving quality and efficiency in project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engineering tasks in accordance with project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Act as Lead Engineer where required, managing technical delivery for assigned projects.
  • Support business development activities through proposal preparation and consultancy.
  • Contribute to discipline competence assessments and design assurance.
  • Provide technical expertise in the specification, design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of C&I systems.
  • Produce and review technical documentation and ensure compliance with relevant standards and procedures.
  • Analyse performance issues, conduct root cause analysis, and recommend improvements.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of engineering procedures and best practices.
  • Prepare user requirement specifications and datasheets for C&I equipment.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent.
  • Demonstrable experience across the full project lifecycle including Pre-FEED, FEED, and EPC within sectors such as chemicals, oil & gas, petrochemicals, or power generation.
  • Strong knowledge of C&I design standards and legislation.
  • Experience with safety instrumented systems and functional safety life cycles.
  • Familiarity with hazardous area classification and associated equipment standards.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and documentation.
  • Effective report writing and presentation skills.
  • Understanding of project control processes and change management.
  • Knowledge of SHE and quality systems relevant to C&I engineering.

  • Hybrid working with minimum 3 days in the office.
  • Flexible working hours, 37.5 hours per week with contracted working hours of 08:30-17:00 (1 hour break), but can have a flexible start/finish time/break around core hours of 9-4 mon-thu and 9-2 Friday.
