About the Operations Manager Role:

The Operations Manager will ensure high-quality, compliant delivery of retrofit projects while enhancing operational efficiency and team performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Project Delivery: Lead multiple high-volume retrofit projects, ensuring on-time, budget-compliant, and high-quality outcomes. Maintain regulatory compliance, manage tenders, and ensure cost-effective delivery.
  • Operational Efficiency: Streamline workflows and processes, implement improvements (Lean, Six Sigma), and use data analytics to optimize operations.
  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a retrofit strategy aligned with company goals, seeking new opportunities for growth and service enhancement.
  • Budget and Performance Management: Oversee budgets, monitor costs, and track performance to meet financial targets and optimize profitability.
  • Team Leadership: Recruit, mentor, and lead a team of Retrofit Coordinators, Designers, and Support Staff, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Stakeholder and Contract Management: Serve as the main contact for clients and contractors, negotiate contracts, and ensure alignment with project goals.
  • Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure all activities meet regulatory standards, managing risks and implementing mitigation strategies as needed.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Essential:

  • Experience managing cross-functional teams and large-scale projects with an eye on cost, compliance, and timelines.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including budgeting, pricing, and contract management.
  • Skilled in navigating regulated, compliance-focused industries.
  • Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Deep experience in energy efficiency and retrofit.

Nice to Have:

  • Background in continuous improvement (Lean, Six Sigma) for high-efficiency environments.
  • Knowledge of UK building regulations related to energy efficiency and retrofit (e.g., PAS 2030/2035).
