Our client based in Chorley is looking for a Quality Inspector on a permanent basis to carry out good’s inward inspection of materials from suppliers, ensure compliance to design specifications and contractual requirements and to process and report reject parts and correspond with suppliers to fulfil CAR reports.

The Job

  • Quality inspection of incoming materials in accordance with the quality system & procedures
  • Quarantine, inspection and processing of non-conforming materials.
  • Raising Non-conformance Records within the system where appropriate.
  • Implement any relevant Quality checks and measures.
  • Machine room – monitor first-off operator inspection to ensure parts are machined to drawing.
  • Inspection to ensure the desired finish is being achieved and the product is produced in a timely manner.
  • Inspection of flatbed print, roll fed digital print, over doming, lamination and wrapping.
  • Monitor the accuracy and quality of the kits of parts for production to assemble.
  • Inspection of finished goods built on the shop floor and in print room.
  • Identifying and implementing product and process improvement
  • Prepare quality documents for goods-in inspection and SOPs for products and assembly
  • Receipt and inspection of customer returned products.

About you

  • To have an engineering background and quality related role with a minimum experience of 2 years
  • Ability to read and interpret component and assembly drawings, where appropriate support will be provided where necessary from our engineers.
  • Solid knowledge and experience with Quality Standards - ISO9001 and Internal Audits
  • Have experience inspecting products/production
  • Experience dealing with customer complaints
  • Experience with production process evaluation and improvement
  • Ideally will have knowledge of machined and fabricated parts
