About the Role:

A leading construction company is seeking a skilled and experienced Housing Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Preston. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality housing projects, managing the commercial aspects of the projects, from initial estimates to final accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost plans and estimates
  • Monitor project costs and identify potential cost savings
  • Manage variations and claims
  • Prepare and submit interim and final accounts
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders
  • Conduct site visits to assess progress and identify potential issues
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications and experience:

  • Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field
  • Proven experience in quantity surveying within the social housing sector
  • Strong knowledge of construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in construction software (e.g., Excel, CostX, Asite)
