Day shifts between 8.00am and 10.00pm

Salary starting £12.13

PURPOSE OF POSITIONTo provide effective care and support to adult residents with profound learning difficulties and/or physical difficulties, as directed by the service user plan for the individual.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist in the care of all service users in all aspects of daily living through the delivery of individual planned care programmes and in a person-centred way. Raising any concerns or changes regarding the wellbeing of service users with the manager.

  • Promote independence and dignity of service users whilst assisting in enabling them to live their chosen lifestyle. Including following the rota for and assisting in the participation of lifestyle activities.
  • Act as a chaperone for medical and professional staff as may be required.
  • Driving the Company’s vehicles and mobility vehicles in line with Company procedures, to ensure services users can attend appointments and activities. (Not applicable to staff without a driving licence).
  • General housekeeping and cooking, ensuring that the service is a homely, clean and safe environment for service users and staff.
  • Completing care records, lifestyle records and other required paperwork as and when required.
  • Ensure the safe use of equipment and report any problems to the senior person on shift.
  • Report accidents and near misses to the senior member of staff on duty and complete records as required.
  • Report any complaints to the senior member of staff on duty as soon as they are made.
  • Work within the policies, procedures and guidelines of the service’s quality management system whilst always maintaining confidentiality.
  • Ensuring that health & safety and fire regulations are always met within the service.
  • Undertake training, both formal and informal, which is appropriate to your role and has been identified by your manager.
