Glenelg Support provide high-quality support for individuals with Autism, Learning Disabilities, Physical Disabilities and/or Mental Health needs in Supported Living. We work closely with individuals and their families in the planning and development of support tailored for each individual.


We are seeking to recruit talented people to the role of Support Worker with the right values, skills and behaviours to work in our services across Liverpool - the majority of the vacancies are in Croxteth Park and South Liverpool. It is for full time and part time work.


Drivers are highly desirable but are not essential for some of our services.

Some of our services do require drivers. Due to the Mobility Car Insurance we can only accept drivers with a full UK/EU driving licence.


To become a Support Worker you dont necessarily need experience as we are happy to work with you to help you and give you the skills and experiences to have a positive career with us. You do need to have a positive attitude as well as wanting to be part of a team. The skills that would be beneficial are initiative, patience, understanding and an enthusiasm for wanting to support and help others.

Experience:

  • Experience and understanding of autism
  • Experience working with complex behaviours
  • Experience within a specialist autism environment
  • Experience and knowledge of a broad range of autism specific approaches to learning, development of communication and positive behaviour support
  • Experience of working with families in a support role
  • Have the ability to embrace a diversity of tasks.

Daily responsibilities can include supporting individuals to increase independent living skills around the home (cleaning, cooking, personal care, laundry/ironing, budgeting/paying bills, meal planning/shopping). Arrange and attend all appointments in line with health and housing needs, administration of medication, access the community to participate in activities of their choosing.


Some of our services require a strong candidate with experience in autism, complex needs and mental health knowledge.
