Learning Support Assistant - Chorley

We are currently looking for a Learning Support Assistant to deliver person centred support to individuals who present high levels of complex needs and challenging behaviours associated with learning disabilities, autistic spectrum conditions and mental health problems. You will be working with children and young people who need 1:1 support for multiple reasons.

CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS

  • Location - Chorley
  • Position -LSA Behaviour
  • Type of work - Helping learners regulate and manage their own behaviour
  • Start date - October 2024
  • Likely Duration - July 2025 (if not gone permanently onto the schools books)
  • Contract type - Temporary (Temp to Perm)
  • Full time/part time - Full-time
  • Minimum rate of pay - Minimum rate 100 per day
  • Hours - 8:30 am - 4pm (full day), half day (am or pm), individual lesson cover

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Some experience working with children and young people who display challenging behaviour
  • Experience of de-escalation training would be advantageous
  • The school would also consider candidates from youth work backgrounds, or similar roles
  • Confidence to make decisions
  • Excellent communication and the ability to build positive relationships with the students
  • Empathy and understanding
  • Willingness to enhance skills with professional training and development

TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST:

  • Hold Right to Work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
